Patternmaking Basic

Course-description

4 days, 2 Saturdays & 2 Sundays from 10am til 3.30pm.

This Course is primarily intended for beginners or future applicants for our 2-year program in Clothing Design. But if you have sewn before and need experience in fitting then this would also be something for you.

During the Course we work with Patternmaking on a high level. A well-made and correct pattern is vital for ensuring a nicely turned-out product.

You will be introduced to patterns in standard and own sizes of a skirt and top. First you work on paper, then fabric and we go through the right finish depending on final fabric. Fittings are made in front of the group. Your patterns are prepaired so that you make the style in real fabric.

Among other things we will go through;

Measurements/Measurements-systems.
Personal adaptation of a basic pattern.
Proportions
Fitting/Draping of details.
Lining, facing & fusing.
Relevant information and preparation for production.

Both differentiated teaching and group-work is used. When foreigners the Course is also taught in English. Upon Completion a Diploma is handed out.

DATES

Course 1; Saturday the 2/6, Sunday the 3/6, Saturday the 9/6 and Sunday the 10/6 from 10am to 3.30pm.

Fee & Enrollment

The Course-fee is Dkk. 2800 pr. participant. The fee covers fabric, thread and patternpaer. The participant is required to bring scissors, tape-measure, pencil, eraser, pins and needles.

Upon reception of the enrollment-form, a confirmation is forwarded alongside our payment-information. When enrolling we kindly request a deposit of dkk. 500. The remainder of the Fee is due 2 weeks before the Course starts. When enrolling later the 2 weeks before the Course starts, the entire Fee is due, whereoff dkk. 500 is deposit.

Participation can be cancelled by the applicant up untill the Course starts, whereafter the Fee is returned minus the deposit.

If the Course is cancelled by the Academy, the Fee is returned in its entirety.
